More on Parasychology, Beverley Kane, MD

Beverly Kane, MD is the Program Director for Medicine and Horsemanship at the Stanford School of Medicine, CA. Dr. Kane has conducted gold standard scientific research in exercise physiology, smoking cessation, and multiple risk factor intervention for coronary artery disease at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention. She was the secretary of the San Francisco Parapsychology Research Group, whose members included leading academic parapsychologists Russell Targ, Stanley Grof, and Dean Radin. The book that Dr. Kane co-edited, Silver Threads: 25 Years of Parapsychology Research will be published in a second edition in 2010.

Mardi Horowitz, MD

Dr. Horowitz is a Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF, pioneering the development of the diagnosis and treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In addition, he has initiated and directed several clinical research programs including the Psychotherapy Evaluation and Study Center, Center for the Study of Neuroses, and the Program on Conscious and Unconscious Mental Processes and the Center on Stress and Personality.
