Linda Tellington Jones will introduce her TTouch between pairs of people, heart coherence to deepen trust with teh horse and connecting to the Breath of Mother Earth with Dolphin Breathing. In addition, Linda will guide participants through a labyrinth for physical, mental and emotional balance of horse and handler. The latter part of the demonstration will include TTouches for our equine partners for developing a respectful approach for establishing trust and understanding how our expectation and visualization affects behavior.

Dr. Horowitz is a Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF, pioneering the development of the diagnosis and treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In addition, he has initiated and directed several clinical research programs including the Psychotherapy Evaluation and Study Center, Center for the Study of Neuroses, and the Program on Conscious and Unconscious Mental Processes and the Center on Stress and Personality.

Barbara Rector will present how the Heart Lens of hte horse and human can influence our learning from teh horse and it from us. Barbara has nearly four decades sharing horses with people. she has traveled the world training the trainers in her Adventures in Awareness™ process and has held key leadership roles at Therapeutic riding of Tucson, Inc (TROT) which she co-founded in 1974 and at Sierra Tucson Hospitals were she introduced therapeuitc work with horses and the practice of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. she is also a co-founder of EFMHA.

Paterning in equine work is a necessity for safety of horse, coach/facilitator and client. Julie and Mary believe that as direction-setters for hte Equine Guided Education (EGE) process facilitators and the quality of their partnering strongly influence the quality and even the outcome of the EGE experience. Successful partnering can create an empowering, exhilarating, and profoundly rewarding experience for all concerned. Mary and Julie will demonstrate what they have learned, discovered and distinguished over the past year in their practice of embodying partnership with one another, their clients, and their equine guides. Julie and Mary's demonstration will draw from the wide array of ontological and somatic tools and practices (clearing and harmonizing energies, processing breakdowns, empowering leadership, and opening practices that they have integrated into their lives and EGE offerings that enable them to experience the bliss of surrendering and dancing in the moment with their clients and equine partners.

Dr. Jim Smith of the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky will take us through a step by step process for how to successfully design research proposals. Perhaps we can contribute to the field by offering research statistics while we work? Dr Smith is also on the Board of Directors of the Horses and Human Foundation which offers grants each year to programs that present thorough research proposals.

An Experiential Education Approach for EGE, Judy Askins CEGE
An Experiential Education Approach for EGE, Judy Askins, CEGE and her staff members at Equus Elemental will demo how they bring an experiential education model to EGE work with interactive exercises focused on active personal experience, reflection and application to expand knowledge, develop skills and clarify values. Participants will see how horses mirror back what they are putting out in the world moment by moment. Experiential education models are commonly used to help structure experience-based training and education programs. When combined with the innate wisdom and guidance of the horses, powerful and long-term benefits are achieved. Judy Askins – CEGE & EE Co-Founder, was published in “Chicken Soup For The Horse Lover’s Soul,” and began training horses in 2000. Judy is an award winning director, writer, producer and actor who enjoyed an illustrious career in television for28 years. She taught innumerable classes, workshops, and has coached for 20 yearsand is most passionate about empowering people with the horse as their guide.

EGE is an intuitive, creative process that allows the possibility that not just horses, but other animals, the earth and the sky become part of the process. Ariana and Rick will offer a demonstration focusing on some of the unique aspects of EGE including somatic awareness exercises, coach-style facilitation/interaction, and connecting to the environment as a means to heal what has been broken and re-connec to the spiritual calling in each of us to move forward in our lives with dignity and grace.
