VISION
EGEA's vision is to re connect people to land and nature through various horse as healer/teacher learning models so that each can heal the other.

MISSION
The mission of the Equine Guided Education Association (EGEA) is to create and support a unified discourse involving the interaction of the horse as a respected 'guide' in human growth, learning and development. EGEA provides standards for competency, educational opportunities, resources and support for professionals and the public.

OBJECTIVES:

  • " Provide membership for professionals who are incorporating horses into a variety of human development and education opportunities.
  • " Provide educational programs and training in EGE for professionals entering the field and for the general public.
  • " Provide opportunities for members to share experiences and wisdom for the sake of developing a unified discourse including the Annual Big Sky Horse Conference and other programs as they arise.
  • " Provide resources for the public to learn more about EGE and how to find reliable, quality sources of education.
  • " Increase public awareness of EGE and its importance and value to human development, growth and learning.
  • " Establish consistent standards for future educational programs in universities, colleges and appropriate alternative educational systems.
  • " Create and maintain principles and standards for the safe and respectful integration of horses in the educational process.
  • " Provide an internet library of articles, book, research and other material related to EGE for professionals and the general public.

MEMBERS INCLUDE:
Coaches, educators, consultants, mental health therapists, wholistic health educators, human development facilitators, teachers, alternative education specialists, horse trainers, riding instructors, human resources professionals, etc.
